Seasonal Pattern
In August, the water temperature reaches its peak, and the summer pattern is in full swing. To escape the heat, bass move offshore to areas with flowing water or to deeper, temperature-stable waters. Finding the locations where bass and baitfish are linked will yield good fishing results.
Deep cranking, heavy carolina rigs, and offshore swimbaits are highly effective. Look for current breaks, river mouths, and underwater structures where baitfish congregate. Night fishing also becomes a viable option as bass move shallow under the cover of darkness.
