It's one of the most accessible nature escapes from Japan's capital, and one of the most spectacular.
After a day on the water, stay the night and enjoy a traditional Japanese onsen with a view of Mt. Fuji, or head back to Tokyo in time for dinner. Either way, the journey is part of the experience.
The Chuo Highway Bus departs from Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal (Busta Shinjuku) and reaches Kawaguchiko Station in about 1 hour 45 minutes. With up to 49 buses per day and departures as frequent as every 10 minutes, it's a direct, no-transfer ride with reserved seating, comfortable and stress-free.
From Tokyo, take the Chuo Expressway and exit at Kawaguchiko IC.
